Going to the top of the iconic Tower via the Durrance route.
Devils Tower is a symbolic rock in Wyoming with its fascinating shape and history. After the Badlands traverse in nearby South Dakota, we did a one-day detour to go see the Tower and climb it.
There are many routes to the top and we picked the most popular: the Durrance. We did the fun Bailey direct for the last pitch and so skipped the jump. 6 pitches total, all pretty diverse, with columns, finger to chimney size cracks. El Cracko Diablo is also a good alternative.
Leveraging the new Hue’s SQL Scratchpad Web Component into your own Web Applications.
Segmenting more the overall projects into fully decoupled components is one reason it is still alive in a rapidly changing industry.
Here is a live demo of the component https://api.gethue.com.
This first release is a MVP and lets you edit and execute SQL content. …
One of the “longest” canyon and narrows you can get.
Buckskin Gulch provides 20 km / 12 miles of canyon and can be combined with Pariah Canyon for 50 km / 33 miles more.
Those distances make them unique compared to the popular Zion Narrows or the majestic highs of Halls Narrows in Capitol Reef. Permits are required and competitive and the season matters as it gets quite cold and warm.
The end of March ended up being perfect with all the seasons succeeding during the trip, a little bit of flooding, and nobody seeing during the whole trip past…
Using AWS S3 Signed URLs to list buckets, keys and manage files.
SQL querying opens up your data and helps users take decisions backed by hard facts. However, what if the data they need is not present already in the Data Warehouse?
In order to provide a more self service experience, they could bring their own data to query or join, then export and share the query results files etc.
Here is a real life scenario where signed URLs have been introduced in the Hue Editor project.

Mangrove, chickee camping, dolphins… a loop around White Water Bay.
After a first night in the Flamingo dispersed camping (and a mini tempest..) it was time to pickup a permit at the Visitor Center and load-up the kayak and start the paddle of the next five days.
The goal of the trip was to explore the remote and quiet sections of the rivers while camping on the chickees. …
Grow your user base able to leverage data stored in HBase via SQL queries with Apache Phoenix and the Hue Web SQL Editor.
For people not familiar with HBase, image a giant big table specialized in storing and updating in real time any type of records. But how to operate it?
SQL queries are much shorter and easier for implementing/maintaining the logic than using lower level API (e.g. think HBase…
